what makes a comic unique?

mc cloud say´s  one pic transport a message, two pic’s are a story…..

a medium per se is  ubiquitous, it has to be linked or filled with: content, design, purpose and popularity(if it has to be a mass medium), if it should work.

is the painting of a item/artefact comparable to the “real thing” ? Scott mc cloud says this is not even a painting, he says this is one out of ten drawings of a painting of a pipe… it is just the representative of a real item it has the meaning but not the funktion, its only a 2D visual part of a whole thing.

a sign for example is due to the simplification more or faster regonisable than text or a picture if you add some signal color you can’t ignore a sign.
